MemberPort

Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2, 2026

Overview

MemberPort is a Shopify app by BuildWithZach that helps merchants connect Shopify customer qualification signals to Discord access. This Privacy Policy explains how MemberPort collects, uses, shares, and protects information when merchants install or use the app, and when customers use a MemberPort claim link to connect Discord access.

MemberPort is designed around data minimization, transparency, and security. We aim to process only the information needed to operate Shopify-to-Discord access rules, claim links, role grants, and member access tracking.

Information We Collect

Depending on how a merchant configures MemberPort, we may process the following categories of information:

  • Merchant account and store information, such as store domain, app installation details, contact details provided by the merchant, and app configuration settings.
  • Shopify customer and order information needed to evaluate access rules, such as customer identifiers, customer tags, order identifiers, purchased products, order totals, and qualification status.
  • Discord connection information, such as Discord server identifiers, role identifiers, role names, bot connection status, Discord user identifiers, usernames, and claim or role-grant status.
  • Access rule and activity information, such as active rules, pending grants, successful role grants, failed grants, revoked access, claim link activity, and operational audit events.
  • Support and access request information submitted through MemberPort forms, including contact details and messages provided by the person submitting the form.

How We Use Information

We use information to provide, maintain, and improve MemberPort, including to:

  • Connect a Shopify store to a merchant's Discord server.
  • Evaluate whether a customer qualifies for Discord access based on purchases, customer tags, spend thresholds, or subscription product rules.
  • Create and manage Discord claim links.
  • Connect a Shopify customer record to a Discord account when a customer completes the claim flow.
  • Grant, track, troubleshoot, and revoke Discord role access.
  • Show merchants access status, pending grants, failures, and recent activity inside the app.
  • Send operational messages or Discord order updates when a merchant enables those features.
  • Respond to support, launch access, and product inquiries.
  • Protect the app, investigate errors, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information. We share information only as needed to operate MemberPort, including with:

  • Shopify, when MemberPort receives store, order, customer, product, tag, or app-related information through Shopify APIs, webhooks, or app surfaces.
  • Discord, when MemberPort uses Discord OAuth, bot permissions, server information, or role APIs to connect accounts and grant access.
  • Service providers that help host, monitor, secure, or operate the app and website.
  • Legal, security, or compliance recipients if required to comply with law, enforce terms, protect rights, or respond to lawful requests.

Merchant Responsibilities

Merchants are responsible for making sure their use of MemberPort complies with applicable privacy, data protection, customer notice, consent, and platform requirements. Merchants should update their own privacy policies to explain how they use apps like MemberPort to connect Shopify purchases, customer tags, or membership signals to Discord access.

Data Retention

We keep information for as long as needed to provide MemberPort, maintain access records, troubleshoot issues, support merchants, comply with legal obligations, and protect the app. If a merchant uninstalls MemberPort or requests deletion, we will take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify information that is no longer needed, subject to legal, security, and operational requirements.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information processed by MemberPort. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Customer Requests

Customers who want to access, correct, or delete information connected to a Shopify order or customer account should first contact the merchant whose store they purchased from. Merchants can contact MemberPort through the contact form for help with app-related privacy or deletion requests.

International Transfers

Information may be processed in countries other than where the merchant, customer, or Discord member is located. Where required, merchants are responsible for making sure their use of MemberPort is consistent with applicable international transfer requirements.

Children

MemberPort is intended for use by Shopify merchants and their eligible customers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
