Shopify purchase to Discord invite

Send a Discord invite after a Shopify purchase—without treating the invite as proof of access.

For an open buyer community, place a Discord invite in your Shopify post-purchase message. For paid or role-gated channels, send a MemberPort claim link so the buyer can connect Discord, prove eligibility, and receive the mapped role.

Direct answer

Yes. You can send a Discord invite after a Shopify purchase.

Add the invite URL to the order confirmation, thank-you page, customer email, or other post-purchase handoff you control. That works when every buyer gets the same server access.

When the purchase should unlock a private role or channel, use a claim-linked flow instead. A reusable invite gets someone into the server; it does not, by itself, connect that Discord account to the Shopify customer who paid.

Open server

Send the normal invite

Use a shared Discord invite when joining the server is the only requirement and every buyer sees the same channels.

Paid access

Send the customer claim link

Use MemberPort when the buyer must connect Discord and receive the role mapped to a Shopify purchase, tag, or spend threshold.

Current boundary

Plan role removal separately

MemberPort currently focuses on qualification, claims, role readiness, grants, and member status—not automatic revocation after a refund, cancellation, or expiration.

Use cases

Choose the handoff based on what the Shopify order unlocks.

The important question is not just “How do I send an invite?” It is whether joining the server is enough, or whether the buyer also needs verified role access.

01

Open buyer community

Put one standard invite in the post-purchase message when all customers enter the same public channel set.

02

Paid member channels

Map the purchased pass or membership product to the Discord role that opens paid channels.

03

Course or product access

Give buyers of a specific course, bundle, drop, or product the matching community role after claim.

04

VIP and private support

Use a Shopify purchase, customer tag, or spend threshold to qualify access to VIP or support rooms.

Four-step flow

Turn a paid Shopify order into the right Discord role.

Use this flow when the Discord destination is gated. It keeps the purchase, customer claim, Discord account, and role grant in one auditable path.

01 Map product to role

Create a MemberPort rule that maps the Shopify product purchase to the Discord role the buyer should receive.

02 Deliver the claim link

Expose the customer claim link in the post-purchase handoff used for the qualifying order.

03 Connect Discord

The buyer follows the claim link and connects the Discord account that should receive access.

04 Check and grant

MemberPort checks eligibility and role readiness, then the hosted bot grants the mapped role and records member status.

Already in the server?

Existing Discord members do not need to leave and rejoin.

Send the same MemberPort claim path. The customer connects the Discord account that is already in the server, and the hosted bot can grant the mapped role after the Shopify rule passes.

This is another reason to separate “join the server” from “claim the access purchased in Shopify.” The customer may have joined months before buying.

Answers

Shopify purchase and Discord invite questions.

Clear answers for choosing between a normal server invite and a Shopify-linked claim flow.

Can Shopify send a Discord invite after a purchase?

Yes. Add a Discord invite URL to the order confirmation, thank-you page, customer email, or other post-purchase handoff you control. Use a MemberPort claim link instead when the purchase must be checked before a private Discord role is granted.

Should I put a permanent Discord invite in the Shopify order confirmation?

Only when every buyer should receive the same server access and forwarding the link is acceptable. A reusable invite is not a reliable record of which Shopify customer bought access.

What is the difference between a Discord invite and a MemberPort claim link?

A Discord invite gets someone into a server. A MemberPort claim link connects the Shopify customer to their Discord account, checks the qualifying rule, and grants the mapped role through the hosted bot.

What if the Shopify customer is already in my Discord server?

They do not need to leave and rejoin. The customer can use the claim link to connect the Discord account already in the server, then receive the mapped role after the Shopify rule passes.

Can a Discord Community Invite assign a role?

Yes. Discord documents Community Invites that assign roles when accepted, including for existing server members. That invite feature does not check a Shopify purchase by itself; MemberPort is the Shopify-linked eligibility and claim layer.

Does MemberPort remove a Discord role after a refund or cancellation?

Not automatically in the current public launch scope. MemberPort is currently focused on qualification, claim links, pending grants, role readiness, role grants, and member status. Plan refund, cancellation, expiration, and role-removal handling separately for now.
